Quirks Tag

Got this from over at Crystals where she tagged everyone, so I'm also tagging everyone, ok?

The Rules:~

Link the person(s) who tagged you~ (I would have but I broke the rules)
Mention the rules on your blog~
Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours~
Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them~ (still breaking rules cause you're ALL tagged if you haven't already done this :-)
Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged (see above broken rules)

My Quirks

1. I don't like having dirt, or dust, or mud, on my feet, yet I rarely wear shoes indoors. I'll go freaking crazy if someone spills salt, or cornmeal, or sugar, etc... in the floor, fails to clean it up, and I step in it. If I get dust on my feet, I'm antsy and feel icky until I can wash my feet to get it off.

2. I have to spend time resting before I can go to bed and fall asleep and when I get up, I'm not actually awake until I've had coffee and time to stare into space for about 30 minutes. If you want a fight, speak to me before I've had my zombie stare ritual.

3. I don't like being in a room with the doors closed. The first thing I do in the morning is open my front door, there's a clear glass storm door so there's protection from the elements. I can't sleep if my bedroom door is closed. I do not like feeling closed in, at all!

4. I believe I have a sign on my forehead that's invisible to most people but is visible to total strangers who need to tell their problems to someone. For more times than I can keep count of, I've been told the life stories of people I'd never seen or heard of before and have never seen or heard from since. This has happened in places like Dr's offices, airports, and even at a check-out line in a shopping mall once. I hope they've felt better after relating their problems to me but I gotta tell you, sometimes it's totally freaky.

5. I don't handle grief well, even my own. I feel helpless that I can't make things better for people who have lost loved ones, and never know what to say. I also feel other's pain very deeply, so I rarely attend a funeral. I rarely attend weddings for many of the same reasons.

6. I think faster than I can talk. This often leads to me forgetting, in mid-sentence, what I'm discussing with someone.

Lovely to find your blog and thank you for visiting Thatchwick cottage. I am also a person that must have at least one cup of coffee (make it two) before I can face the world. And as for copind with grief, I was the same - a sworn coward. Then I lost my husband five years ago and I really appreciated every fumbling word of sympathy - even the tactless ones. Every word of kindness had some healing in it for me. Loved reading about the visit to the museum with the littlies. Have a happy day. ELeanor

Oh Brendaa! I LOVE your answers! Thank you so much for doing this! Can I tell you my story? Ya know, my life story?? Come on, let's sit and talk a spell. Oops, just spilled the sugar on the floor...I'll clean in up in a minute. Oh, you'll clean it up in a minute? Alright, lets just go relax and lay on the bed and talk. What's that pained look on your face for??? All I did was shut the door...hhmmm. Wonder why she just busted it down...LOLOL!!! I loved all your answers sweet!

Love your answers as well. I am quirky as you are on number 6. I think too fast. When I start speaking to anybody, I am already in the middle of the situation before I start talking and my hubby said what?!?!?!!? LOL Have a great day. *HUGS*

Cut it out Crystal, LOL! See, you don't have quirks kid! Hahahaha
And to tell me your life story, you'd have to be seeing me for the first time EVER, be a total stranger, then let er loose. :-)

I'm with you on the closed door thing. My doors are always wide open. I'm surprised I haven't been robbed while I'm in the back yard. Sometimes when people come over .. especially in winter they close the front door behind them. I discreetly go back and open it again. I can't stand it.

Well, I'm glad you did this for me, as in "I can relate to every single one"!! And, another thing, I'm sure glad I checked here before I sent you a long, long email telling my troubles today!

Remember when I worked at W/D and blogged about all the durned people who told me their life stories in under 4 minutes? Yep, don't miss that too much. hahaha

Miz Sally, you can tell me your troubles any time. I haven't considered you a stranger since the first time you left a comment on my blog. :-)

Sis,
I miss you....We didn't have enough time to visit when I was down the last time. Are you going to come to Little Rock for Terri's birthday parade? If so, I hope to see you there. She is having a parade for her 50th. I don't know how that is going to work. It will most likely be around her house. I don't know. Jacob is playing in Harrison next weekend and I'm going to try to go. I wish you could come up.

Love and miss you,
Paula

You have never seen that mark on your forehead? I get it too, but not as much as you. It happened at the airport on Monday with a little ole nun from Shrevesport, LA and some woman who has a business in the island. The trick is to not make eye contact, wear one of those phones in your ear (I don't care if it is fake) and talk to your self or pretend person. They will either think you are busy or crazy... either way they will steer clear of you.
At the airport today I am putting my ipod plugs in my ears and knitting. I will not look up or around. I will listen to my books on audio and not make eye contact. (Let you know how that works out.)
