Has the world gone crazy?

I find it hard to watch the news these days and it's almost worse reading about it online because it seems those reports give even more details of the tragedies. There's hardly ever any good news reported anymore and surely there is some, isn't there?

One of the defense attorneys for Saddam's murderous buds has been found with 2 bullet holes in his head.

A mother who claims to hear voices tosses her 3 children in the bay in San Francisco.

Hurricane Wilma is chugging along and expected to gain strength before slamming ashore on Florida's east coast.

Thousands of survivors of the Pakistan earthquake still awaiting help two weeks after their world collapsed, with a freezing winter looming.

Study results show double rain forest destruction.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just climb back into bed and pull the covers over my head.

Jerri wanted me to ask if anyone was interested in playing a little game that one of her buds is hosting. The next competition starts in November.

Well I don't know if to you this counts as good news, but it did put a smile on my face, Tom Delay getting, arrested (since he is out on bail, I assume its arrested). What comes around goes around, I say.

Okay, here's some more good news - I saw the sonogram and video for "Briana Riley" yesterday - It was sooo cute - the dr. shook Brittney's belly to make her move around. I was in awe and said, "Oh, she is so beautiful" and everyone laughed! Huh? What's so funny? :)

One has to step back, shut it off, and look again at the world now and then.

I have lost 25 pounds and still plugging away. That is good news.

But, you are right, the news is so sad and just plain awful.

I agree, there is no good news anymore. And 24 hour news stations rattle off the bad news like machine gun. It's depressing!!

Sometimes you just don't want to pick up a paper or watch the news. Lately is definitely one of those times.

These are hard times indeed!
We can worry about our family and neighbors and help when you can, but try not to put the weight of the world on your shoulders. We need to count our blessings and go on with our lives. I am still in shock over that tsunami that took out 10's of thousands of unaware people! Make your disaster kits for your cars and houses and take each day as it gets here. (And go to Church and thank the Lord for your His Grace)!

To draw readers and viewers it seems you need bad news. Good news just doesn't cut it. Which really SUX!

Well, virginia gal's news did cheer me up a bit.
Now if I find out somebody let ole Gut Rumbles loose on that baby killer in SF, it might just be a good week ahead.

Mornin' Brenda. How did Monday get here so fast?

David said...

Well it is Monday and the world has not disappeared - though that might not be a good thing. Just think of what comes after the world we know does disappear.

Be glad you're getting the news, even the bad news. While I would like to get some good news once in awhile I wouldn't want to go back to the "happy-talk" formats of the 70's news broadcasts.

Sadly, newsworthy events are not always happy ones. Also as sad, you can't create the news. If you could create the news, you'd be Karl Rove.

Wow, as if I wasn't already depressed. What the hell is wrong with people? How can a parent kill their children? I hear voices in my head too and I tell them to shut the hell up.
