Looking back on 2008

January musings

I think if I could go back to just one place in time it would be as a child in Grandma's kitchen, maybe sitting at the table with her and Grandpa, a bowl of her hot cornbread covered in cold buttermilk sitting in front of us.

I want "CheneyCare", I already pay for what he has, is my life not worth the same?

March madness

Spring Break zoo trip.

On March 7th, Old Man Winter thumbed his nose at us by dumping 7 inches of snow on our daffodils.

The first Brenda Photo Challenge, Signs of Spring.

Sincere Prayer, Brenda style.

There's a moral in here.

My Ya-Ya passed on.

Orange Photo Challenge

Terri's birthday parade.

The Golly Monster.

Jerri was making pumpkin bread the other morning and Beans walked into the kitchen and said,

"Ok Ma'am, you're safe now. I locked the tiger in the cage."

My best moon shot.

Photo Challenge, Old

A new President was elected and new era in history arrived. We got the stunning news that hubby's job would end in January.

The month brought news of a new job for hubby and a wonderful holiday.

Each of the entries above is a link to the post it came from in case you want to go have a look.

One door closes and another opens, life is like that sometimes. It sure can give you heart stopping moments though.

I hope everyone is looking forward to 2009 with curiosity and hope!

I'm just here to say "HEY" and hope you're doing good. Still can't read what you've written though. Is it just me?

It is a little hard to read, unless you mouse-over, then it lights up!

Hey there Miz Brenda!! Haven't been around lately and have a ton of catchin' up to do! I'm so glad to read that your husband has a new job as I didn't know that he lost his old one. Mine is home 24/7 now and I'm having quite the time adjusting. 2009 will be a challenge for me...big time. I wish you and your family a very Happy and Blessed New Year and hope that you had a wonderful Christmas.

What a year! We can never even try to predict what will happen when we turn the calendar to a new year. We just hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride!

Here's hoping that the new year is not as painful as they are predicting it to be! I know..lovely thought isn't it?

2008 was my first year of "Not" working in a long time.

I didn't miss it, although I miss some of the people, so I go for lunch every couple of weeks.

And I just love being home. Don likes it too.

Have a wonderful new year. All of it!

Sugah, no flattery intended, just sincere compliments. You have an incredible blog. It works on so many levels. You express a wide-range of emotions, seldom calling your shots. But your blog works. It's an honest witness diary to your life while at the same time it gives you the opportunity to be creative. I don't know if your photography has gotten better, but it sure has been good! The lives of everyone you touched this past year are better for having hung out with you a spell. Seriously.

Happy New Year.

What a year! Like all of them highs and lows but hopefully the highs outweigh the lows. It did bring you into my life so that's a high. Nice to look back at some of your highlights from before we 'met'. A very Happy New Year Miz Brenda! {{HUGS}}
