A Rare Event

All the grandchildren together, in one place, at one time, and cornered long enough for a photo!

We had a fun afternoon playing Trivia, sipping coffee, and gorging our faces with yummy pies. Trish, Bubbie, and I teamed up against Banny (Jerri's mom), Jerri's niece, Dallas, and Jami and Jerri. I was on the winning team (turning cartwheels in my mind here) even though I didn't contribute a whole hell of a lot of knowledge to the game today. I think what I love most about it is the joking and laughter of my kids as they're all just sitting around being who they are.

The smaller ones were very well behaved today. I don't think there was even a drop of blood shed or any tears except for Meri Kate and she had an ear ache for awhile there.

As we set up the game, Trish made the remark that she felt drab because everyone was wearing makeup but her. Bubbie, being fast on the draw with come-backs, and totally in love with food, said, "Yeah, but you're wearing meringue, and that's my favorite decoration!" He'd had a few beers while he'd deep fried his turkeys and was in top form today. Anytime you need an expert on the contents of Victoria's Secret catalogs, he's your man.

We've made another play date for Saturday afternoon so I'm going shopping tomorrow for a Win, Lose, or Draw game for us to try out. I think we had plenty of Trivia for one holiday.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving or just a wonderful day!!

No one in that family looks drab. Thanks for making me look up "meringue," which is not as I first thought, a female tennis player from Romania.

What a beautiful family of grand children you have - you are truly blessed.

I'm with Mary Lou, I don't think HE would like me much either. But, I shouldn't say that because if the two you hadn't gotten together, you wouldn't have such a wonderful brood. I'm glad you're getting together again Saturday; you must live for those moments. :)

I'm so happy you guys had such a good time! : ) Great picture, Brenda. How nice to have all the little ones together. Sounds like you've got a good weekend planned.

It's so pretty and festive in here! What a nice job you've done. :)

I know they're all growing like weeds but I swear that Jillian looks like she's growing by leaps and bounds. It seems like only yesterday she was this tiny little newborn! Nothing like a baby to remind us of how time flies! They are all so beautiful!
I'm glad you had a great day with your kids!

I meant to say also like Leslie - it is really pretty here in your spot. And, that Jillian is really growing like a weed. I just can't wait, Brenda, for ours to get here; two months or so. I HAVE to get a digital camera cause you know I'll be wanting to post pictures.

The thing is, it would probably be like my new cell phone. I was raising heck yesterday because the blasted thing wouldn't work AFTER I had charged it all night. Come to find out, I didn't have it turned on. I don't know - wierd things happening here - the other night, the alarm went off on my car in the W/D parking lot. I didn't have a CLUE what to do. My family thought I was nuts, now they KNOW I am. :)
