The Short Gardener

For the past few years I've let Zach plant sunflower seeds and care for them. The first year he chopped a hole in the mud, scattered a few seed, then mostly forgot about them, and those babies grew almost as tall as the shed and bloomed all summer long! I reckon kids must be born with a lucky green thumb and if they're lucky it sticks with them through life. (Or in my case, grow up to live with what can kill em, will kill em luck)

Anyhow, here's his first sunflower bloom of the season,

<--------- I like those buttons over there on my sidebar. I'd wear them all,,,at the same time! (grin)

I couldn't see it on your post, but the enlarged picture came through.

It's beautiful! Our sunflowers are a bit behind you. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Enjoy.

Little Zach has a greener thumb than I do. I planted sunflower seeds for the first time this year, and well, let's just say, I did something wrong.

I love those buttons, noticed them yesterday! :)

What was your plan?

I love the sunflower, how did you make that frame around it....I NEED TO KNOW STUFF LIKE THAT YOU KNOW!!

If you keep wearing all those pins, folks in town are going to start to looking atcha funny.

Love the sunflower...I hope I have some luck in my little garden plot because that is basically what I did too...dug under the mulch...chopped up some mud and planted...boy am I sore today from it too!!
Maybe I'll get some sort of planting charm for it!
Loved the buttons!!

When I first posted this, I tried to make the smaller sunflower photo into a link for the larger photo. Didn't work.

The frames around the photos just appeared. Must be something in the code for the template I'm using from Blogs Gone Wild.

I love sunflowers. Maybe it is because I am from Kansas.
