The Magic Recliner and other stuff

You'd never believe that this ragged old thing could be so magical but I promise ya, when hubby sits down, he's sound asleep and snoring in less than 5 minutes. It must have fairy stuffing in it or something. It also works it's magic on Nanaw's who are foolish enough to have a sit but this Nanaw knows better and avoids it's spell. It does not, however, work on the youngest generation because I believe they sense it's magical powers.

I just love these little weedy wild flowers that grow along the roads and everywhere
they find a spot this time of the year. Sometimes we'll pass by a pasture that hasn't been mowed or grazed and there are thousands of these little beauties spreading their bright yellow delight around.

I think the littlest chicklet is coming to visit tomorrow while her mommy and daddy go to pick up fireworks for their stand. We have plans to cook some ribs on the grill if we don't get rained on and she loves to play outdoors so she'll have fun.

I think it's a universal thing that all recliners have. My butt's worn through two of them all on its own in the past :)

Those little wildflowers look sort of like Black-eyed Susans - how pretty. And that last picture makes me want to reach out and tickle those chubby little knees : )

My Dear Hubby has one of those, too, tho ours is a few years newer, haha! Had to replace the old one that finally wore out. Those 'raggedy little flowers' you mentioned are Coreopsis, I believe. A friend in the Midwest told me they grow along the roads back there like wildflowers. They aren't native to Portland but I got some in a packet of seeds in the mail one year from Habitat for Humanity and planted them. My Coreopsis must've grown to be 7'tall and you couldn't BELIEVE the blossoms on it! I'm thinkin' it must be a perennial back in your part of the country if they just show up each year, but here in our cooler climate they must be annuals 'coz it never came back. Since then I've noticed some planted in yards around the city so they're catching on out here. I love them, too...the colors are so vivid and I liked the fact that it bloomed all summer and never got all dried-out and yucky looking.

I believe I can see the outline in that chair... it's just beckoning, "Come on, have a sit, come on, you don't have anything to do...."
Wicked thing, isn't it? :)
