I'm always at the wrong place

Opportunity hardly ever knocks at my door but if it did, I'd be one happy old gal, waiting there with camera in hand to take a picture of it.

Yesterday James was doing what it is that he does at the shop down on the farm and he began hearing the sound of a large airplane. The noise kept getting louder, and louder, until he just had to drop what he was doing and check to see if he needed to haul his old butt elsewhere to avoid being landed upon. The noise maker was a Fedex DC10 that was flying so low that James said "if I weren't as blind as a bat, I'da been able to see what kind of tires he had on that landing gear." (which was down by the way). He said the plane circled over the shop a couple of times, then climbed and crossed the levee and circled back before finally flying on southward (still flying just above the treetops).

We're still wondering if it was trying to find a place to make an emergency landing, nothing on the news about it though. Weird.

I rarely encounter such cool stuff as that. The helicopter that circled my autumn sunflowers two years in a row hasn't even come back. They must have decided once and for all that I had a brain larger than a walnut and those were not marijuana plants growing out there beside my shed. Kinda makes me sad, sometimes I could use a little more of that kind of excitement in my life.

I hope we're not spending tax dollars on someone dumb enough to not know the difference between sunflowers and marijuana. Maybe they thought your flowers were pretty and wanted a photo!

You KNOW those FEDEX guys want to give you the quickest service around, so maybe they were making an airdrop! Did James check the field?

I have dreams like that. I see airplanes going down all the time. But they never crash.

Maybe the plane was loaded down with photo copy paper, heading for Special K's loading dock? I'll bet she will be happy to see it!

Geez, talk about flying low! It's no wonder your hubby thought he was gonna get landed on! lol I remember one time there was a fire in the bush near here and the water bomber kept going right over our house after getting water from the nearby lake and the sound was deafening....we could also see the whites of the pilot's eyes, he was so low!!!!

Maybe it was an emergency, life-saving shipment of photocopier paper.

Wow, it looks like Halloween in here! Sheesh, September is just around the corner.
Was there any parachutes? Maybe some Terrorists were sneeking in!! Lock your doors!!
Or maybe it was one of those lost Ghost planes from the Bermuda Triangle, and it appeared for a minute. Hmmmm..........

The most excitement we ever get to see in the skies is the police chopper tracking criminals with their giant spotlights.

Had a drug bust go down once in our old condo complex though. I opened the front door to see what all the noise was about and was met with an angry German Shepherd and a cop telling me to get back inside. That'll teach me for bein' Mrs. Kravitz.
