For The Rest of The Story

I failed to mention another incident that happened on Wednesday and I'm not sure why except that my brain was a little drained after wording the tale of "the man meets horse and horse wins". But it could also be because I felt just a little bit like a criminal,,,or something.

As I was leaving Jerri's, with frayed nerves and much on my mind, I backed out of their drive and, WHAP, went right into the side of a small truck that was parked behind me in the right lane on their little, narrow street. The front of my truck wasn't even out of Jerri's drive when I hit the truck, so that's how narrow the street is. The truck hadn't been there when I drove in and I guess I just didn't notice it parked there, in the way, when I came out. I got out of my truck and went to the door of the house there and told the lady I'd hit her truck, gave her my phone number, the name of my insurance company (local), and my agent's name. In my frazzled state, it never occurred to me that a police officer was needed. As soon as I left, I went directly to my insurance company and reported the accident and the owner of the truck was on the phone with one of the secretaries when I arrived.

My truck didn't even have a scratch on it!

I think the woman called the police because Jerri told me they were looking for me as they were leaving for the hospital. I don't reckon they wanted me too badly though, cause the woman had my name and number and when I later called the police station, they didn't know what I was talking about.

Bubbie went back to the doctor today and his shoulder is ok but they've found he has 2 broken ribs in addition to the breaks in his collar bone. He's not being a very nice patient and I think Jerri is ready to shoot him.

As long as you left your name, you did no wrong. At least under Iowa law. I'm not sure about the law "down south". If they issue an arrest warrant can I be the one to arrest you? I'd be so honored!! :)

Glad no one was hurt in the little fender bender mishap.

Hey Brenda, you've heard this... "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all", right?

.... gloom, despair & agony on me... deep down depression, excessive misery. If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...... (from Hee Haw I think?)

Hope things calm down and get back to normal (whatever the heck that is) soon!

Thinking about you Brenda... ((hugs))

Oh, poor Bubbie! Yep, Jerri's got her hands full. She may send him over to your house. :)

I happened to be in WM, looking for your poster but it hasn't made it to our store yet. And, then I went to the post office, your picture wasn't there either. So, I think you're in the clear on both counts!

Poor Bubbie, he got beat up pretty bad!! Thank God it wasn't worse.

Men don't make very good patients, do they?

my hubby is never a nice patient...the nurses have been known to hug me in sympathy when we leave!! his problem is the no smokey in the hospital rule...he just can't stand it...
I hope Bubbie gets well but it is to be expected with his injuries that he might be a widdle on the grumpy side!!
(((hugs))) to Jerri!!

Oh my God, the same thing happened to me on Thursday! I was working super late that day, so exhausted, and whap I hit a parked car also. And just like you...the person's car I hit made it seem like I had totalled their car instead of the minor damage that really happened!
Man oh man, what is with us gals?? We need a stress free vacation!

Considering half of the accident occurred on private property I'm surprised the police even came out (unless they had nothing better to do).

I hope your son feels better soon. I sympathize with Jerri, men make the worst patients. They are such whiney brats.
