Critters

We had one of those temperature tease days on Friday when it warmed up enough for the kids to go out and frolic and roam. I'm pretty sure that Beans had to hunt and search pretty hard to find this "hoppy". I'm also pretty sure this young bullfrog was thinking, "I wish this kid would leave me alone so I could snuggle back into my muddy bed."

He didn't even protest the rude awakening; just blinked every once in awhile.

We grow little country babies around these parts so frogs, grass snakes, and various other critters get to join in when it's play time. I'm sure they're rather not, but they can't protest, so there you go.

The snow geese that we saw in a field over in the next county when we were on our way home the other day. This was just a fraction of them; they were still flying in as we drove away.

Oh, I love Arkansas.
Would love to swap this weather - 12 below this morning - for your weather.
Sometimes I would even like to have a little gas heater again and give up the furnace, but that isn't realistic.
I sometimes wonder how we got along without air conditioning, but we did!!!
Enjoy your weather. Pray the storms stay away!!!

I love critters, they're just a natural part of growing up. Participating in the discovery of nature is priceless...it's wonderful you live in the country and have all this in your "backyard".

That little Beans is something else. I just love her enthusiasm about nature's creatures. She's braver than me!! I'd be afraid of getting warts. hahahha

I'm a country girl too who grew up with all kinds of critters around but last Thursday when I was at work and felt something slimy in my shirt I did squirm a little bit. Everyboy got a big kick out of me flinging a small frog out of my sleeve! It must have came in with the plants that day.

I don't know of any better way for the kids to get to know the animals. How nice to have had such warm weather!
I hope this ice stays away from you.

I'd sure like one of those temperature tease days - but I could do without Hoppy.

It's cold and grey here in SE Pennsylvania. And I don't know why, but a lot of the schools around here had 2 hour delayed openings. I think the weather around us is more severe than the weather here.

I am not squeemish about too many critters, but I do not like touching frogs - eeeeek! Must be cool to see all those geese?

Have a great afternoon, Brenda - Kellan

Brenda, I hope everything is okay with you guys. We were afraid you'd been in trouble with all the ice. Please take care. I hope if that happened, you're finding a way to stay warm. Love ya much. (HUGS)

I like the way you worded it, how the critters get to play along.

I grew up playing in the mud and trees and for the most part am ok with bugs, just can't handle two things, mice and snakes.
