Wednesday, already?

You'd think with all the awakenings going on outdoors I'd be up and at em of a morning but in reality a couple more hours of sleep would help me to better appreciate the bird and bloom rituals.

Today I must do the grocery shopping that I've been puttin off due to my lack of enthusiasm about it. It wouldn't be nearly the dreaded chore if I didn't have to manhandle all those food items a numerous amount of times before actually consuming them. It tires me out just thinking about it. I can remember doing this chore in the past with toddlers in tow but I can't remember how I managed it. I do remember having to tell the cashier which items I actually wanted to pay for when we got to the check-out though, because my children were very talented at hiding contraband in the basket as we did our shopping.

Ahhh the memories.

Anyhow, the reason for the past recall is that I'm very thankful that the only thing I have to manhandle today is the food so maybe I'll have time to watch the birds and smell the blooms.

I'm feeling the same way Brenda, I can't believe it's Wednesday already.

i try to carefully time my shopping trips. first, i leave the house before the boys get home from school, but late enough that when i return from shopping they will already be there. (to unload the vehicle)

at the commissary we have baggers that bag your groceries, transport them to the car, and load them. for tips. i tip well. i find it very worth it.

it may sound lazy, but without those conveniences i would have to take a nap after buying groceries for this starving horde.

Beautiful flowers Brenda. What kind of flower is the bottom one? Wisteria?

So are you having the whole family over for Easter Dinner?

The only thing I hated about going to the commissary was they would not come home with me and unload the car and put them away. I even offered a BIG tip. No way. :(

Well, at least you don't have to schlep your groceries onto a bus, then climb a hill and 3 flights of stairs to get them in the door.

Lemme tell ya, the bigger grocery days suck.

I hope your Wednesday was a good un Miz Andie.

I needed things from the dreaded Walmart today so no baggers, no carry out, hell, barely had a checker!

Yes Miz Joan, that's my wisteria. She's young but a bloomer.

I suppose Miz Mary lou. They haven't said so yet but I'll cook up something anyway cause it's a holiday and the men folks expect the women folk to sweat and slave in the kitchen on holidays.

Special K, I have become a dreadfully lazy old broad. I'd order take-out or starve if I had to tote em up a hill, or stairs, or onto a bus.

I've been 3 times this week Joe, I just didn't feel like buying everything I needed at once so I put it off. I'm paying for it too, in more ways than one.

When Patti got old enough to stay home while I shopped, it didn't make things much easier.

Every single time, I'd hear my name being called over the loud speaker: Mrs. Crowe you have a call at the office! At first, I scrambled, then later I ambled. She ALWAYS had to remind of the essentials; cheese doodles, oreo's, and chips. Sheesh, what a kid!!

Oh, the lilacs are due to bloom pretty soon. They are one of my favorites, but oh do they kill me! Spring is such a pretty joyful time of year.

Hope you did have time to smell the flowers and listen to the birds. It helps to do so.
