Conversing

The scene: In Nanaw's living room on New Year's Day.

Chick's Daddy: Alexis, tell Nanaw where we went this morning.

Chick: We went to McDonalds for a big "supper", but they didn't give me pancakes in my big "supper" so I didn't get pancakes.

Daddy: Big Breakfast Alexis.

Chick: Oh,, breakfast.

Nanaw: No pancakes? Why didn't they give you pancakes in your breakfast?

Chick: Because they're assholes.

The scene: Every adult in the room trying to keep a straight face while the Chick's Daddy hides his face in the couch cushions.

Sooooo that's why the red face!!

I'm guessing the Chick's Daddy got a good stern talking too about being careful what one says in front of adorable little tape recorders. Especially when one can hit the playback button at the most unexpected (an often embarrassing) times.

She's right you know.

Once at a Gulf Coast hotel, my son was jumping up and down on the bed. Everytime he jumped he said the "F" word in participle form.

It eventually sunk in what he was saying. Everyone looked at me; as if he heard it from me. I quickly blamed his new vocabulary word on HBO. It got me off the hook.

I bet daddy didn't expect that to come out in that conversation!! Too funny!

When school first started my granddaughter missed the bus, so her mom quickly drove down the road to catch the bus at our other daughters home. When questioned why they were there, Madison (kindergarten age) said in an exasperated tone, "We missed that damned bus"! I don't know where she heard that......:)

I've never understood the pancakes from McD's things though - they're bloody horrible.
