Sometimes I Do Stupid Stuff

Actually, more often than not I do totally stupid stuff, but since that menopause biddy has been living in my body, I have managed to top the stupid stuff charts.

I mentioned in a previous post about dangling my booms over that pot of steaming greens while reaching for something in the cabinet and burning one of them. That was pretty stupid, right? Well, my stupid streak continues.

I also washed a paper towel that James had left in the pocket of his work pants which resulted in quite a bit of cussin' and carryin' on while I was trying to get all those teeny pieces of soggy paper out of the washer. I'm still finding some in the dryer a day later.

Then, as I tried to sit in the floor in front of a bookshelf to pick up a pile of papers and books that Zach had left in the floor in front of it, I skinned my shin on one of his text books. Now I have matching scrapes on both shins except that one is horizontal, the other vertical. I don't even know where the second one came from.

Today I decided to toss 2 little 10 in. pillows into a load of wash. They're cotton, the kind you toss on your bed, sofa, or in a chair. They looked washable to me. The kids had spilled and dribbled all manner of stuff on them so it was either wash 'em, or throw 'em away.

It ended up I did both cause one of them, sprung a leak. I'm not sure how they got those 5 million little fluffy pieces of shredded foam into those little 10 inch pillows, but I know now how easy they come out.

All in my washer.

All over 3 shirts, 1 pair of jeans, and 2 pot holders.

I shook, and shook, and shook, the clothes before putting them into the dryer but I betcha there will still be some of that stuff in the dryer lint catcher. Then I had to sweep the floor.

Somebody just shoot me.

Not stupid. I view it as practical, at least for the pillows. You have to at least TRY to get them clean. Maybe not with other things in the washer, but still...

I have sinus problems. All fall I have ragweed allergies and most of the winter I sniffle. I have tissues in my pockets at all times. Since being a child, my mother drilled it into me to check my pockets. I'm pretty good at it, but sometimes I don't have pockets, and i put one inside my sleeve. It's the MOST annoying thing. For at least 35 years I've been doing the same, stupid thing. It can't be helped!

We all make these stupid little mistakes. It's called being human. We think we are doing the right thing, and it blows up in our face. Get in line!!

Mine likes to leave tissues in his pockets and I realize that as I'm picking out tissue bits in my dryer. *grumble* He's gotten better but not perfect.

I have always thought about washing pot holders but didn't know if that would ruin them. Now I know!

I know it's not funny..... LOL... but it is if it doesn't happen to me. I don't know how many kleenex I have left in pockets. That is why Stretch does his own wash...he's tired of wearing my kleenex. Things will improve.

Oh you poor baby! Why dont you just plan a vacation and come visit me for a while. We can drive up and see Kat, and surprise Leslie and Carl!

I laughed and laughed at your blog, but I also felt very sorry for you.
Hope you made it okay.
Dean has taken over our laundry and one of the days, if I'm not careful he may have the Kleenex Surprise, and he may hand the laundry chore back to me!!!
I'm thinking about getting rid of some of my clothes, he washes things as fast I take them off!!!
He also has taken over the dishwasher.
His reasoning is simple, I can't reach either.

I sometimes think that the deck is stacked against me, and I says, Lord, it's okay if you're not on my side today, but please, please, for chrissake, stop shooting at me. I'm already dancing as fast as I can.

I HATE when stuff gets shredded in the washing machine. As much as I try I never remember to check pockets. At least it wasn't chap stick!
