A Crystal Idea

Miz Crystal asked her readers to post their favorite book and/or movie. I thought this would be hard because I have so many favorites, but after thinking for a minute or two, these have to be it.

"The Stand" by Stephen King. This book scared the hell out of me but I couldn't put it down. I first read it back 1979 and read it again about 8 years ago. This book started a love affair between myself and Stephen King's novels of horror.

"Love You Forever", by Robert Munsch is my favorite children's book. Zach was a little fella the first time I read this book. I broke down and sobbed before I could get to the end and he looked at me like I was crazy or something.

"Steel Magnolias" has got to be the best chick flick in the whole entire world. I've probably seen this movie about 20 times. I laughed, I cried, at one point I did both.

LOLOLOLOL!!! OMG, I can't breath!!! I LOVED that movie! I watch it with mom whenever it comes on! Ouiser and Clairee were my absolute FAVORITE characters in that movie, LOL! I'm going to aspire to be Clairee when I grow up!!

As for scary books (or at least it scared the hell out of me) was Patricia Cornwell's Post Mortem. The Ex worked midnights and at night was my only chance to read, after the kids were in bed. Needless to say, the whole series was so good that I couldn't put any of them down and never slept in the dark! LOL!

Thank you SO MUCH for playing along and participating! I enjoyed your post and wont be able to get that last pic out of my head...nice buns by the way;)

Miz Donna, I hardly ever sign on to my yahoo email. Use dian1954 at gmail dot com. :-)

One of my sister's swears that I'm just like Ouiser, Miz Crystal. I have a sort of laid back bitch of an attitude sometimes. :-) And the book I'm reading now is Web of Evil by J.A. Jance, it's pretty good if I could only stay awake longer to get more reading done!

Miz Sally, I never laughed, or cried, so much during a movie as I did that one.

Good Morning Brenda,
I hope the weather has settled down in your part of the woods. I don't read or watch scary books or movies. They make me have nightmares too much. Now, my DH and our girls will sit and watch scarry movies, but I go in our bedroom and watch what I like. I loved the movie Steel Magnolia's. I could watch it over and over again. I've never heard of the other movie tho. Guess I missed out on that one. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

I haven't read much Stephen King; maybe I'll have to give him a try.
I'll bust out bawling when I read "Love You Forever" myself. the kids never get it.

I love me some Steel Magnolias...but I can't for the life of me remember "that" scene...ROFLMBO!!!

I think they made a movie out of The Stand Miz Karen, but, as usual, it wasn't anywhere near as good as the book!

Miz Kim, Stephen King has a great talent for making you feel like a little kid when you read his books, afraid to look under your bed.

Miz Tammy, that was the scene where Clairee has become a sports announcer and Ouiser goes with her to the locker room to interview some of the players.

I absolutely adored Stell Magnolias and so did my daughter. It is one of those movies we can watch over and over and over again!! And the I Love You Forever book....I read that to her when she was a baby! It's a terrific book.

I love "I'll love you forever". I give it as a gift to every new mother of a boy. I still read it to Beau on occasion and he still doesn't get it. And it still makes me cry.

Loved Shirley in Steel Magnolias. Great movie.

WOW! You picked three of MY favorites! "The Stand" is probably my favorite Stephen King of all, and "Love You Forever" makes me bawl like a baby everytime I read it. My oldest, Katie, always looks at me like I'm crazy...
