MeriKate's elbow is fractured in the ball (that roundish part of the bone I think) but it wasn't in the growth cap so the doc said that's a good thing. There is the little problem that it's her left elbow, she'll be in a cast for at least 6 weeks, and she's left handed.
She's been in a good bit of pain so it's uncertain if she'll go to school this week and they didn't cast it yet either, they'll have to go back to Little Rock on Friday for that. The doc also told them to give this child vitamins with calcium (something Nanaw has mentioned in the past).

Good Morning Brenda,
"THANK YOU" for the update on MeriKate. I know she will be in pain for a while. When our youngest daughter broke her arm a couple of years ago, it was her right arm and she is right-handed. She had to get used to writing with the cast on. She caught on and used it really well. I'm surprised they didn't put a temporary cast on the other day. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
Bless her heart - any broken bone is bad, but the elbow; particularly odd and cumbersome I would think. I'm so sorry this happened to the beautiful little munchkin. I hope the pain will go away SOON!
Isn't she beautiful!!! I really hope the pain goes away quickly...I'll send some healing vibes her way!! Poor Baby!!!
Nanaw knows best. Stretch will be upset when he hears this. Her photo really touched at his heart when I was sharing with him the notes. He was so impressed with all the notes, but there is a certain wistfulness that grabs you.
Hope she gets to feeling better. She's a beautiful little thing!!
Brenda, I posted the info you wanted to know about;0)
Seriously, that kid has the worst luck.
My goodness, first the ATV and now this! Poor kid! They're going to need to wrap her up in cotton.
And you, ma'am, need extra Nanaw stars for the last few days that you've had. Yeesh.
