Hump Day!

Jerri called a bit ago and the doc is going to keep Jilly in the hospital for one more night so they can push the fluids and meds by IV to be on the safe side.

Last Wed. Jerri took her to the doctor because she felt bad and had a fever and he gave her antibiotics. When she woke up Thursday morning the whole inside of her mouth was covered in little blisters and one big one on her tongue. Jerri pushed and pushed her to drink so she was taking fluids pretty well but the baby wouldn't eat anything and every time she tried, her mouth would bleed and she'd just cry and cry. She had her back to the doctor every day the rest of the week and again on Monday. She'd lost 2 lbs from Friday until Monday and it worried him so much that he insisted she go into the hospital last night.

Jerri did everything but stand on her head to get Jillian to eat bites of anything and she did eat a little, just not enough to keep her from losing weight so fast so Jerri was worried sick too. She's eating a little more today and is resting pretty good but she sure doesn't like that IV, I think because it's like a teather to her. Jerri is exhausted but maybe after tonight JillyBeans will be on the mend and she can get some much needed rest. The Chick just wants her Momma and baby sister to come home!

So sorry about Jilly - it hurts us adults when the little ones hurt and don't understand. Hopefully she will be good as new very quickly. ec

Poor child! And poor momma, too. It's scary to have a child so sick and be so exhausted, too. How's Nanaw holding up?

Oh, no! Poor little girl. What a scary thing that is for her and her family. Fever, blisters, needles...that's an awful lot for a little one to try and cope with. I hope she'll be alright soon, Brenda.

Poor little Jilly. I hope the sores go away soon, and she feels better. Why do such things have to happen to such little children?

So sorry that Jilly is having so much trouble. It is so hurtful to watch the little ones suffer. Hope she is home by now.

Poor little sweetheart...sounds like she has thrush, which causes little blisters all inside the mouth and tongue. It's very hard to eat or swallow when you have that so it's no wonder she wouldn't eat! Praying that she'll soon be completely recovered...it's so hard on the family too and my heart goes out to them all!

We've all been worried about our baby Beans but poor Jerri has been the one under the stress. I sure hope she doesn't get sick, she's worn out!
