We're all lit up!

Zach's still facinated by Christmas lights and insists that we string them up around the porch and the eave of the house every year. When he was little we'd take him for a drive to show him all the Christmas lights and he'd say, "LOOK PopPop, LOOK, They're all lit up!" We still do the drive thing around the Christmas holidays to look at all the lights and he still enjoys it just as much.

Jillian will be old enough this year to really enjoy Christmas. She's already philfering the ornaments off of their tree! Jerri's Christmas theme this year is Santas and she's so talented in doing these things. My theme is sentimental, whatever someone's given me, or I've come across that I liked, finds it's way on the mantal, or tree, or is sitting around decorating some spot in my house. My absolute favorites are things the kids have made.

I really had fun visiting with Trish and the girls on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I came home on Saturday because I'd promised Zach we'd put the tree up. They'll be back at Christmas but not until the weekend after because of Trish's work. Hopefully, that weekend, I'll be able to get a photo of all the kids together.

My son got a deer on their Thanksgiving hunting trip. He shot it right before dark on the very last day. How lucky is that? I won't eat venison but will cook some of the tenderloin for Zach and James for supper tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a grand holiday!

You won't eat it? Are you crazy? I love venison!!

And your template is great! I can't even figure out how to do my own site, so you are a rocket scientist compared to me!

Like your Christmas format. The little ones are the thing that make the holidays so much fun. ec

I don't eat deer either Brenda. In fact I can't even be around it, the gamey smell makes me want to vomit. Ugh!

Glad you had a great time with the kids, I think you needed that. :)

we noticed a lot of people took advantage of the warm weather to spruce up their yards and to decorate early...it will probably be a very festive year!!
I like your blog decor!

We'd like to put up outdoor lights this year; we even have some from last year's yard. But, there are no outdoor electrical outlets at this house!

To this day I still love to go on a driving tour to see all the Christmas lights in the neighbourhood:-) I have lights around all my windows, along the eaves, around the deck and in a spruce tree at the front so we're helping keep the street bright! lol My dad was a moose hunter so I was raised eating moose meat...now I won't touch it! Guess I had too much of it growing up! lol

I still love to ride around and look at Christmas lights. I even take the long way home sometimes just so I can do that!

We don't have our decorations up yet. I hope to work on it this weekend. I usually have them up by now but we are planning on getting a real tree this year.

I would love to do a fancy or themed tree but I (like you) love the things my daughter has made and the ornaments from my childhood the best. Maybe when she is older I will pass them all on to her and I can have a "fancy" tree! We will see!!
