Hey Wait, Slow Down!

The Chick starts kindergarten tomorrow, wasn't it just yesterday that I was rocking a little squirming bundle while singing Dixie? She's excited about it, but also a little nervous and having a few pangs anxiety. I think she'll be fine as soon as she settles into a routine.

Beans told her Momma that she wanted to go so school too, "cause I know my ABCD's".

As I was sitting in the bathroom with her this morning for a full 25 minutes of singing and nursery rhyme reciting, I realized with some sadness that this is another activity that will soon be over. She'll be able to go potty without needing Nanaw's or Momma's company and encouragement.

Oh Lordy, I never figured I'd be getting sentimental over the potty trips!

Cute pictures!

The whole potty thing is why I would never have more kids!

Kindergarten! Life changes forever. It's not all bad, but some of the innocence of childhood will be lost.

Well, I'll say this - those are two GREAT shots of the babies. They are both so adorable. Yeah, potty days will be over soon for Jilly Beans (not for us yet, but we're a-workin' on it), and then before you know it she'll be going to school with her big sis.

**SIGH** Time is just flying by.

Yep, it's amazing how fast time flies. Squirt's first day of Kindergarten is Thursday.
I'm not too sentimental over the potty days being over. I'll be thrilled when and if Squirt gets good with his aim!

I have to agree... I can imagine being sentimental over many things, but not potty trips.

They do grow up way too fast! But just think of all the things you will learn from them...they'll bring excitement home each day!

Ahhhh, spoken like a true maternal soul. Lamenting the soon to be lost days of potty trying...lol

I'm going to have to say, that's one aspect of the little ones I don't miss, nor do I care to repeat. My last two kids are 11 months and 9 days apart. That means I had 2 of them in diapers for what felt like eternity. And getting them potty trained was a nightmare. The first one refused to go in the toilet as long as the second one didn't have to. The second one wasn't ready until he was ready, period. I was beginning to think the 1st one would have to start kindergarton wearing a diaper! lol Okay, so I exaggerate a bit...but I still don't miss the potty training stuff. But, man, I miss the other things that little kids do...the laughing, the discovery, the developing personalities.
Geez.
Now I'm going to have to go look at my kid's baby books. lol

What sweet photos. I can just see her little personality. My daughter is starting to train Maddie and it's not going the best. Bribery works. LOL

Jillian's been potty trained since before she turned 2, but she still needs help with the wiping part and likes to be entertained while she pottys.

Oh Brenda, that is one beautiful kindergartener! The little boys are going to be after her soon! Oh my she is a doll! Did you take this photo? It is outstanding!

At least you still have the little one and potty fun for awhile longer. It's passing way too fast isn't it?

On the upside, maybe none of them will have to follow you to the can while you take care of Nature's bidness, if you get my drift.

I mean, as nice as it might be to have someone hand you the toilet paper, I think you'll be OK without the "valet service", so to speak.

Ahem.

P.S. But yup, they sure do grow up fast.

P.P.S. I also think it's hilarious for Kim to hope for better aim from the Squirt.
