He came uninvited and he's not potty-trained so he's gotta go. I'd show him the door but he's being evasive. I'd catch and release but I'd be fooling myself into thinking he wouldn't find his way back.
I bought traps today.
Ain't living with a field mouse in the house.
oh man, I so hate mice. good luck getting rid of him (especially before he brings his entire extended family - oh lord!).
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hate mice! My brother just recently bought an older "fix 'r up 'r" in the country. Lets just say after months of just "sitting" there that place was INFESTED! We had a couple in our house a couple of years ago and I put out traps but if I saw one run behind something I wasn't beyond grabbing the broom and moving furniture! Just call me the "Mouse Exterminator!"
ReplyDeleteMy parents would get mice every winter. They would have to put traps in the bread drawer. Trust me when I say, it's always safer to look in the drawer before sticking your hand in it. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you know he ALWAYS brings company!
ReplyDeleteGET 'IM!
ReplyDeleteDo you remember that one Bug's Bunny episode, when a Scottish lighthouse owner kept yelling, "There's a moose loose in the hoose!" ?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what made me think of this.
Cats are good mouse traps. Want one of mine?
ReplyDeleteOh mercy how I do hate mice. There is nothing more scary than having something so small and so fast rummaging around in your cupboards and drawers. Good luck with getting rid of him. Actually here's hoping it is a HIM and not a HER with children!
ReplyDelete2 words Brenda.... BAR STRIPS. They're very inexpensive and usually can be found (well bought) at a farm & feed supply place. They work extremely well and I tell you what... if you can't find any around there, just holler and I'll have Gary or Mallory stop by the local MFA and buy a few and mail to you. Those little mouse varmints love to chew on them, and then they run off and "expire" never to be seen again. :)
ReplyDeleteI had them really bad in the barn and they'd eat the heck out of sweet feed for my cows. I put a couple of those BAR BAITS in the drum of sweet feed and in about 2-3 days, didn't see no left behind trails of mousey do-do. :)
Listen to CJ - and if you can't find BAR BAITS (I don't know what that is) try a couple of strategically placed D-Con boxes. You can get them everywhere.

Oh don't hurt the poor wee thing!
ReplyDeleteMouse traps are evil.
Our outdoor (stray) cat who has lived in our yard killed a mouse once. Want to borrow her?
ReplyDeleteI have a new cat droped off about a mounth ago! Where is our half way point?
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of mouse bait or any sort of poison indoors with all the kiddies running around. Jillian is just trying to scoot and crawl so even the mousetraps have to be hidden out of reach. Hell, I may just have to adopt the little critter but I sure hope it's not a girl mouse. Don't need anymore babies running around!
ReplyDeleteWhy would you want to get rid of that sweet little creature that GOD made?
ReplyDeleteYes, adopting it is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteYou never know, it might turn out to be a little lost travelling performing mouse!
Those little things are not my friends at all, they go or I go, plain and simple no questions asked.
ReplyDeleteNothing is harder to catch than a mouse in the house. Even with a black cat.
ReplyDeleteI hope yours didn't do too much damage.
