Photo Challenge: Memories 2

Well, here I am again.  HughesNet is behaving,,,so far,,,and I'm going to try to post my Memories Challenge Photos.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone's creations!

Ok, to begin....

North Creek Gin
James worked many, many, long hours in this cotton gin when it was in operation in the 70's.  I can remember so many nights when he would come home at 1 or 2 a.m. and fall asleep at the kitchen table while he was trying to eat his supper.  He'd sleep 3 hours or so, then get up and go gin some more cotton.

I plan to do another group of photos with this old gin in it soon, because if you stand inside, or anywhere within view, of this old place, you can look north a few hundred yards and see my James' s final resting place. I plan to attempt to brave the weeds and critters to take a photo of the cemetery from there, one of the places that I feel helped to put him on the road to where he rests much to early.

Planting a cherry tree for Zach in  2010.
Some day I will be able to look at photos of the past, that bring back memories, with smiles instead of tears.

Are you making a pie with those cherries?I always put a few in when i move.My aunt would make pies with all we would pick for her, so we rambled through her huge tree. She always made them with a lattice top.

Brenda I just now realised the reason for your long absence from the challenge blog. I am really sorry I did not check this blog before. I am glad you have found the strenght to put up this new challenge.
Yes, as you said in your post, the time will come when you'll look at photos of the past with a smile.
Sue.

Thank you Ms Brenda for hosting the photo challenge once again. I was happy and sad while preparing my post for the challenge. When I go to the cemetery now, it seems like a peaceful place and I could sit and stay for a long time.

Wonderful photo. I like how you added the tape on the corners too. It goes with the shot so well! And the tree planting event is a neat shot - your hubby teaching the a member of the younger generation how to plant a tree! Life goes on, it truly does.

Old buildings sure do have their stories to tell and you know some of the stories from this place. If you do venture into those weeds, I sure hope you do it during the wintertime. Less critters and snakes that way. And go along with someone - not by yourself!

I know you are still healing, sweetie. It takes time. We all love you and are here for you.

Thank you so much for bringing the challenge back!

Oh - and we have Hughesnet as well, so I understand the internet issues! We don't have too much trouble with ours going out, I just hate the download allowance.

very nice photos brenda -- good to see you back to the challenge. (in more ways than one.)
and yes, the time will come that you will smile when you see the photos of your dear husband. and you will feel happiness of the time you had together - rather than time you've had apart. this is something i know. -- ya know? in fact - i bet you've had a few moments of that already? no matter how brief , those memories are the world. he was a special man. and personally, i appreciate you sharing him with me.
PS - i commented back to you in my blog box. one of those kinda just happened things . go check it out if ya want.
big hugs to you -

Ms. Brenda, you are a very strong woman and I admire you for putting one foot in front of the other, even when some days it hurts like hell. James would be so proud of you for being strong.

I love the photos and look forward to more when you are ready ♥♥♥
